News: The Melbourne Start-Up Changing The Way We Buy and Sell Tickets

VibeWire is a ticket resale platform for true music fans – eliminating scalpers, scammers and fraud.

The Melbourne-based startup made a splash last weekend when it facilitated the safe and simple resale of tickets for nearly 10% of punters who attended a sold out event at Riva, St Kilda.

The Claptone Masquerade event sold out in the blink of an eye, leaving unlucky fans to the mercy of unregulated exchange platforms such as Facebook and Gumtree where scalpers normally thrive. However, in a win for the punters, sellers who could no longer attend flocked to VibeWire to give other fans a second chance to buy tickets.

Co-founder and live music tragic Zac Leigh was humbled, but not surprised, by the groundswell of public support for the platform since it’s launch.

“Secondary ticket customers have had it tough for a while now. I was always confident that by making VibeWire simple, easy and safe – music fans would embrace it.”

The startup has a raft of events coming up in December as the summer festival season kicks into gear.

“Festival resale markets are conducive to scammers because of high ticket prices, whilst excess demand for tickets often leads to scalping”

Everyone knows someone who has purchased a fake ticket off Facebook or gumtree, so Zac implores music fans to not risk it. “All our buyers are fully protected!”

After selling their first ticket in May 2017, VibeWire was selected to present at the Music Tech Showcase, a part of the 2017 Big Sound Music Conference.
